The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 has reportedly been sold.

According to Top Gear, the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 hybrid supercar has already sold out less than a week after going on sale.

Production of the hybrid, an homage to Lamborghini's iconic Countach, will be limited to 112 units and prices will range in the seven-figure range. Lamborghini plans to begin deliveries in 2022.

The Countach LPI 800-4, unveiled at Monterey Car Week, combines styling inspired by the original Countach with components from Lamborghini's current parts bin. The new Countach shares a common platform with the Lamborghini Aventador and utilizes a hybrid powertrain similar to that found in the 2019 Sián supercar.

This means that Lamborghini's familiar 6.5-liter V12 engine remains in its usual place behind the driver and is assisted by a small electric motor integrated into the drivetrain. Electricity is recovered using regenerative braking and stored in supercapacitors instead of a conventional battery pack.

The V12 engine produces 770 hp, and the total output of the system with the electric motor is 803 hp. This is slightly lower than the Cian, which was estimated at 807 hp. Lamborghini claims the latest Countach accelerates from 0-62mph in 2.8sec, to 0-124mph in 8.6sec, with a top speed of 221mph. The 0-62mph time is the same as the non-hybrid Aventador Ultimae Coupe. [The Aventador's successor, due in 2023, is expected to be a hybrid. However, it will not use the same hardware as the Countach. It is expected to be a plug-in hybrid with a battery pack and a new V12 engine. It will be the third V12 in Lamborghini's history.
