The 2023 Chevrolet Camaro will reportedly be powered by the CT5-V Blackwing V8 engine.

The current sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro won't last long. It is rumored to disappear after the 2024 model year, but there is a slight possibility that it will last until 2026 if demand is sufficient.

The lack of updates in recent years might lead one to think that Chevrolet has completely forgotten about this car, but that's not the case. A camouflaged prototype with a ZL1 body was recently spotted, but don't count on seeing a new Z/28. Plans for a modern Z/28 have apparently fallen through.

According to Motor Trend's sources, Chevrolet will introduce a new variant to send the current Camaro on its way, and this car will allegedly be powered by the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 found in the Cadillac CT5-V Black Wing. This engine makes 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque in the Cadillac and can be tuned even higher in the Camaro. Eventually, the Challenger and Mustang have options for more than 750 hp.

When this "hardcore" Camaro will appear - according to Motor Trend, it should appear for the 2023 model year and run through 2024, giving way to the sixth-generation Camaro.

In 2024 and beyond, there are rumors that Chevrolet will fill the Camaro void with an electric sedan. Don't be fooled by this idea. Dodge has already announced an electric muscle car by 2024, and Ford already sells an electric Mustang, albeit in crossover form.
