Bugatti launches Sur Mesure personalization division.

Bugatti has created the Sur Mesure Personalization division to meet the growing demand for unique cars.

And on Thursday, Bugatti presented a showcase of its possibilities with the Chiron Pure Sport, modified by the sur Mesure team according to the wishes of the buyer. The name means "made to order" in French.

The design was inspired by the Bugatti race cars of the 1930s, driven to victory by Bugatti racing drivers Louis Chiron and Achille Valzi. In particular, the Bugatti Type 51 was the number 32 racing car.

On the modern Chiron Pure Sport, racing numbers are painted in various locations, including on the hand-painted exterior. The Sur Mesure team also created a faded pattern by repeating the initials EB of Bugatti's founder, Ettore Bugatti.

The Sur Mesure team works with buyers from the initial design concept through vehicle production and final handover. Sur Mesure has not yet undertaken the creation of true one-off cars, as rivals such as Ferrari and Rolls-Royce currently offer through their respective Special Projects and Rolls-Royce Coachbuild divisions. Bugatti also builds coachbuilt cars, but in both cases it is Bugatti that plans the cars, not the customer.
