2022 Ford Shelby Raptor with 525 horsepower and aggressiveness.
Shelby American has unveiled its latest Ford F-150 Raptor with an increased level of power and aggression.
The 2022 Shelby Raptor features a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine with cold air intake, a new exhaust system, and aftermarket tuning to increase power from stock 450 hp and 510 lb-ft to 525 hp and 610 lb- ft. These are the same numbers Shelby pulled from the 2018 Raptor, which makes sense since the engine is a carryover item.
Shelby also added a hood scoop, a new grille with "Shelby" block lettering, a new front bumper with LED light bars, and a bed chase rack that can hold a spare tire and has an exclusive LED light bar to give the Raptor an even more aggressive look.
The Raptor also gets Shelby-designed 18-inch wheels and 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 mud-terrain tires. The truck will actually be equipped with six of these massive tires, including the two spares that will be mounted in the bed. Ford also offers BF Goodrich K02 series 37-inch tires as a factory option.
The interior features custom leather seats with red trim, plus plenty of Shelby badging and a numbered plate on the dashboard that is registered with the official Shelby registry.
Shelby has not announced pricing for the 2022 Raptor, but the 2021 model started at $124,820, including the price of the donor Raptor. For about $10,000 less, you could get a 775-horsepower supercharged V-8 Shelby F-150. Meanwhile, Ford plans to introduce its own V-8 Raptor R later this year. Whether the stock model can match the Shelby's output remains to be seen, but it's nice to have options.
