Watch the first run of the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4.

Five months after its unveiling at the 2021 Monterey Car Week, the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 will hit the road for the first time.

The reborn Countach recently hit the road with its two ancestors, the Countach LP 400 and the last Countach built for the 25th anniversary. The [Countach LPI 800-4 is a special model to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Countach's debut. It is based on the Aventador, but uses a hybrid powertrain similar to the one found in the 2019 supercar, the Cyan FKP 37. Peak output is 803 hp, compared to 807 hp for the Cyan.

In both cases, a small electric motor integrated with the transmission powers Lamborghini's familiar 6.5-liter V-12 engine. The electric motor only assists the engine up to 81 mph.

Lamborghini had previously announced that the latest Countach would reach 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds, 0-124 mph in 8.6 seconds, and a top speed of 221 mph. 0-62 mph time is the last non-electric V-12 road car from Lambo, not a hybrid Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae coupe, is identical to that of the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae coupe.

Production was limited to 112 units, and the entire production run has reportedly sold out, despite the price being estimated in the seven-figure range. Lamborghini plans to begin deliveries in the coming months so that the Countach will be one of the last models to use the current Aventador platform and V-12 engine. The successor to the Aventador will feature a new V-12-centric plug-in hybrid powertrain and will be available in 2023. This will be the third V-12 engine design in Lambo's history.
