Jaguar has unveiled the 1,005-horsepower Vision Gran Turismo Concept in roadster form.

Gran Turismo 7, the new video game for Sony PlayStation 4 and 5, was released last week, and Jaguar has announced that the game's vehicle lineup will include Jaguar's initially released for the Gran Turismo Sport title in 2019 The company revealed that an open-top version of the Vision Gran Turismo Concept is included in the game.

This brings the total number of Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo concepts to three, including the Vision Gran Turismo SV race car concept, which was also unveiled in 2020 All three concepts are available in the latest iteration of the popular racing sim, each with new livery.

The sleek silhouette and single-seat format of the new concepts are a clear link to Jaguar's iconic C- and D-type racing cars, especially the fins, which not only look cool but also serve as active aerodynamics. The fins rise at high speeds to enhance stability. A swept-back screen is positioned in front of the driver to provide wind protection.

Power is provided by an electric powertrain consisting of three motors (one in the front and two in the rear) that together are claimed to deliver 1,005 hp of power and 885 lb-ft of torque. This translates to a 0-60 mph acceleration of less than 2.0 seconds and a top speed of more than 200 mph ...... Jaguar claims that this is enough performance for the virtual world.

The battery is a lithium-ion unit, placed as low as possible to keep the center of gravity low. Jaguar also claims a 50:50 weight distribution. No range estimates have been given.

With over 400 cars to choose from in Gran Turismo 7, it is the most content-rich entry in the series to date. This is in addition to the great sound, graphics, and realistic physics that the series is known for.
