Bentley is expanding its lineup with a fifth model, which will debut on May 10.

Bentley will unveil the new model on May 10, making it Bentley's fifth model line along with the Continental GT coupe and convertible, the Flying Spur sedan, and the Bentayga SUV.

In a brief announcement, Bentley said the new car will be "wrapped in luxurious comfort at the pinnacle of its range" and will "combine luxury, technology and performance in a way only Bentley can deliver." The luxury carmaker also said it will feature "a special dimension of on-board wellness," but that's all Bentley has disclosed so far.

The new model is probably not a bespoke successor to the Bacalar convertible first reported last year; Bentley's description of it as a fifth model indicates that it will be produced in regular quantities, not a convertible Bacalar successor, It is expected to be a coupe based on the Continental GT, with only 25 units expected to be produced.

The new model could also feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain like the current Bentayga Hybrid and Flying Spur Hybrid. Bentley aims to make every vehicle it sells a plug-in hybrid or EV by 2026, and every vehicle it sells will be electric by 2030. The brand has significantly increased sales by adding its first SUV, the Bentayga. Given its success, perhaps the new model could be a smaller SUV.

Bentley plans to launch five EVs over the next five years, with the first EV coming in 2025 and the other four coming every year thereafter. In January, Bentley invested $3.3 billion to upgrade its Crewe plant in England for EV production, as well as to introduce digital and Bentley announced a $3.3 billion investment to upgrade its Crewe plant in the U.K. for EV production and to incorporate digital and flexible manufacturing technologies. These upgrades, Bentley claims, will make the plant more environmentally friendly.
