Mercedes-Benz AMG One, 2023 Lexus RX, Delorean Alpha 5: best photos of the week

The Delorean Alpha 5 makes its virtual debut with huge gullwing doors, an electric powertrain, and a design reminiscent of the DMC-12. It's not entirely retro, but the more one looks closely at the photos, the more one finds hints from the past, such as the shape of the steering wheel.

Thanks to patent drawings released by the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the Polestar 5 may have debuted early. The design appears to be almost identical to the Precept Concept, but the proportions are slightly different and the concept's coach-style rear doors are gone.

Land Rover unveiled the Defender 130. The largest version of the Defender has three rows of seats and a turbocharged inline six-cylinder powertrain; a V-8 was not announced. The lengthened Defender is about the same size as the Cadillac Escalade, with slightly less off-road capability due to the longer rear overhangs and loss of break-over angles.

Mercedes-Benz AMG's hypercar "One" finally debuts as a production model. Deliveries are scheduled for later this year, and customers will be pleased to see that the production version looks almost identical to the five-year-old concept car. Cadillac announced plans to unveil the LMDh (Le Mans Daytona Hybrid) racing car on June 9. The car is being developed to compete in the GTP (Grand Touring Prototype) class of the 2023 IMSA Sports Car Championship. Cadillac is also looking to enter the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

The 2023 Lexus RX lineup has made a splash with its new design and V-6 engine options. The next generation of the best-selling Lexus model will feature a smaller powertrain, primarily a 2.4-liter turbo four, and three of the four models will be electrified. One of the models will be a plug-in hybrid. The new RX is scheduled to go on sale later this year.

Sergio Perez won the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix and signed a two-year contract extension. The contract renewal will keep Perez at Red Bull until 2024, where he will continue racing with teammate Max Verstappen.
