2023 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition, available only for America in red, white and blue.

For the third time the U.S. is getting its own 911, while Canada is honing in on the deal.

The automaker unveiled the 2023 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition at the Porsche Parade in the Poconos on Sunday.

The America Edition, a limited edition in cooperation with its customization division, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, is limited to 115 units, 100 of which will be sold in the United States and 15 in Canada. It was just announced on Sunday and has not been pre-sold.

This is Porsche's third American model, beginning with the 356 America Roadster in 1953, followed by the 964-generation 911 America Cabriolet in 1993, and the 911 RS American model in 1992.

Azure Blue 356 paint, exclusive to this model, covered the body. This was a throwback color inspired by the color used on the 1953 Porsche 356 America roadster. White is used for the "America" decals on the lower part of the body and for the spokes of the RS Spyder-designed wheels. The wheel outlines are red and the face is silver, making it the first Porsche wheel finished in three colors. Red is also used to accent the interior stitching, seat belts, GTS badges, and lower sill decals.

The windshield headers are finished in satin black, also exclusive to this model. The black interior features special colors, including red and gray stitching and "America" red stitching embossed on the seats. The door sill plates also commemorate the 70th anniversary of the 356 America Roadster.

Customers can further upgrade the interior with the Extended Interior Package. Red 12 o'clock stripe on the steering wheel, red stitching on the inside of the steering wheel, red and gray stitching on the shift boot, red shift pattern on the gearshift, 911 stitching on the seat headrests, red and gray stitching on the floor mats, painted Azure Blue A key fob and a leather key pouch, also with red and gray stitching and "America" embossed, will be added.

The 2023 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition will be unchanged from the base GTS model, but will be available only with a 7-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. It will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six that produces 473 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. It comes with adaptive dampers, a 0.4-inch lower ride height, helper springs on the rear axle, a sport exhaust, a sport chrono package, additional drive modes, active engine mounts, and a digital/analog clock/timer on the dashboard. The standard cast-iron brakes will be replaced by a new, more powerful, and more powerful brake system. Standard cast-iron brakes include black six-piston front calipers clamping 16-inch rotors and four-piston rear calipers clamping 14.9-inch rotors. Carbon ceramic brakes and rear axle steering are also available.

The America Edition is an option for the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet and will be in dealer showrooms in late 2022 for $186,370. That's a premium of approximately $28,000. If one opts for the Extended Interior Package, the price goes up to $193,880.
