2022 Ram 1500 TRX Sandblast Edition in unique colors.
Gas prices are on the rise, but if you're a pickup truck buyer craving power, it's best to ignore the numbers at the pump and get behind the wheel of the 702-horsepower Ram 1500 TRX.
This high-performance pickup truck was introduced for the 2021 model year, with several special editions added for 2022. The first was the TRX Ignition Edition, announced last fall, and now Ram has followed it up with the TRX Sandblast Edition.
This new special edition builds on the already well-equipped TRX and adds many luxury and safety features from the $10,295 Level 2 equipment group. It also adds a unique Mojave Sand exterior color combined with some graphics and unique 18-inch beadlock-compatible wheels with a black finish. It also features a double-pane panoramic sunroof, spray-on bedliner, cargo tie-downs, bed steps, and cab-mounted brake lights.
Interior features include accent stitching, carbon fiber accents, a leather and carbon fiber flat-bottom steering wheel, unique center console badge, heads-up display, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and other electronic driver assistance features.
The powertrain remains unchanged. Under the hood is the familiar 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 known as the Hellcat, which the TRX accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, 0-100 mph in 10.5 seconds, quarter mile in 12.9 seconds, and top speed of 118 mph (365/65R18 limited only by T-rated tires).
The Ram 1500 TRX Sandblast Edition will go on sale this summer, starting at $100,080 (including $1,795 destination charge). The TRX remains the current king of pickups, but the soon-to-be-released Ford F-150 Raptor R may dethrone the TRX. We will have to wait and see for a while.
