2023 Bentley Continental GT S and GTC S are aimed at driving pleasure
Fresh off the launch of a long-wheelbase version of the Bentayga, Bentley has been busy refreshing its existing lineup. Now, the Bentley Continental lineup is further enhanced by new S versions of the Continental GT coupe and Continental GTC convertible.
In addition to the Bentayga S introduced in 2021, these new models, which will be introduced in 2023, are intended to add a sportier character to the base V-8 versions of the Continental GT and GTC, Bentley announced Monday in a press release The output of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine remains unchanged at 542 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. According to Bentley, the 0-62 mph time is approximately 4.0 seconds.
On the S models, the V-8 engine is exhausted by a standard sport exhaust system; the GT S and GTC S also come standard with Bentley Dynamic Ride. Usually optional, it uses an electric motor to activate anti-roll bars to reduce body roll; an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive remain standard.
Bentley Continental GT S and GTC S models feature dark tinted headlights and taillights, standard 22-inch wheels (21-inch wheels are optional), and a gloss black grille. Most of the exterior trim is also blacked out, except for the Bentley badging and lettering. Black quad exhaust tips and higher-performance Continental GT Speed sill extenders round out the exterior changes.
Interior trim on the S model is a mix of Dinamica synthetic suede and leather, with optional quilting on the seats. The gauges feature the same graphics as the Continental GT Speed.
The 2023 Continental GT S and Continental GTC S will cost $266,000 and $292,500, respectively, with a destination charge of approximately $2,700 for each model. Bentley has not disclosed when the S model will go on sale.
