Pierre Gasly has signed a contract with Alfa Tauri until 2023.
Pierre Gasly will remain at Alfa Tauri for the 2023 F1 season.
"I am delighted to be staying with my team, Scuderia Alfa Tauri. This year's new regulations are a new challenge for us and being able to plan our development with the team over the next 18 months will provide a good working platform for the future."
Guthrie made his debut with the team then known as Toro Rosso at the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix and followed it up with a win at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix and two other podium finishes.
Alfa Tauri is Red Bull Racing's junior team, and Gasly's contract remains with the senior organization, according to Autosport. Gasly was promoted to Red Bull for 12 races in the 2019 season, but was replaced by Alex Albon after team management proved unsatisfied with his performance.
It is unlikely that Gasly will get another chance at Red Bull anytime soon. Champion Max Verstappen signed a contract earlier this year that runs until 2028, the longest in F1 history. Red Bull also recently announced that Sergio Perez will stay with the team until 2024.
The Alfa Tauri team currently sits seventh in the F1 constructors' championship behind Aston Martin, Haas, and Williams, with Gasly in 11th in the driver standings. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda has dropped further down the order to 15th. Alfa Tauri has not finalized a 2023 contract with Tsunoda, who joined the team as an F1 rookie for the 2021 season.
