Bentley will continue to produce 12 1929 Speed Six models as a new series.

Bentley is not done bringing back the classics as continuation cars.

On Friday, Bentley announced that it will build 12 new Speed Sixes for the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is the second pre-war car to be remade as part of the Continuous Series.

The new Speed Six, an identical model of the car that won Le Mans in 1929 and 1930, will be powered by a 6.5-liter inline 6-cylinder with 200 horsepower. Top speed is a wild ? 125 mph.

According to Bentley, the Speed Six was a pivotal car for Bentley and one of the most successful racing cars the company produced at the time.

The 12 continuation cars would be hand-built by a team of Mulliner specialists. This is the same team that recreated the 1929 Team Blower for the 12-car continuation series.

The team used the original blueprints and detailed analysis of the original cars, including the two original Speed Sixes for reference, to create a complete 3D CAD model of the Speed Six.

The parts used to build the Speed Six are the same as those used on the original cars, and Bentley stated that in many cases they are built using the same techniques as in the 1920s.

All 12 cars have been reserved for 1.5 million euros (about $1.5 million at the current exchange rate), and Bentley Chairman and CEO Adrian Hallmark said that owners of the Speed Six continuation cars will be able to "relive the success of the original Bentley Boys will be able to race around the world to relive their success."

Later this year, Bentley will build the first new Speed Six in 92 years as the project's engineering test and development vehicle. The vehicle will be named the Speed Six Car Zero and will be owned by Bentley and join Bentley's collection along with the Blower Car Zero.
