2023 Range Rover SV Carmel Edition takes SUV exclusivity to a new level

Land Rover on Friday unveiled a limited edition version of its latest Range Rover SUV. [The 2023 Land Rover Range Rover SV Carmel Edition is named after the fashionable California town of Carmel, where Land Rover will base its 2022 Monterey Car Week and where this special SUV makes its debut. Only 17 will be built and offered exclusively to Land Rover's Monterey guests.

The exterior of the limited edition model is satin bronze with dark gray gloss 23-inch wheels with satin bronze inserts to match the paint. The interior is upholstered in semi-aniline leather with Liberty Blue front seats and Caraway (tan) rear seats. The rear seats are also embroidered with the Carmel Edition, and the treadplates display the number of each car within the 17 Series.

Based on the long-wheelbase Range Rover, the Carmel Edition also features the SV Signature Suite four-passenger interior configuration: instead of a second-row bench, a console divides the individual rear seats. This console features a power folding table, electric cupholders, and a refrigerator with Dartington crystal glassware.

Buyers can also get two custom golf club fittings at the Titleist Performance Institute, and a full set of clubs for the car's owner and partner.

The Carmel Edition is powered by a new twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine introduced as part of Range Rover's 2022 redesign. This engine produces 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque and accelerates the Range Rover from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds.

Pricing for the Range Rover SV Carmel Edition starts at $345,000 by destination. Land Rover said a portion of the proceeds from each vehicle will be donated to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

If you are not one of Land Rover's guests at Monterey Car Week, Land Rover is also offering a Range Rover SV grade in 2023 with some of the same personalized touches, with a base price of $210,000 for the Long Wheelbase version 2550, and $188,200 for the standard wheelbase version.
