Dodge Charger Daytona Concept, 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, 2023 Honda Pilot: a week in reverse

Dodge unveiled the Charger Daytona Concept EV, Porsche unveiled its radical 2023 911 GT3 RS, and Aston Martin unveiled its DBR22 Concept. And Aston Martin unveiled the DBR22 Concept.

Dodge's electric future will likely resemble the 1968 Charger, as evidenced by the Charger Daytona Concept the brand unveiled at the Speedweek celebration. This sexy, retro-modern concept heralds the brand's first electric car, due in 2024. The concept features a multi-speed transmission, flow-through front wings, and an "exhaust" capable of producing 126 dB, the same as a Hellcat.

Porsche unveiled the 2023 911 GT3 RS, the most extreme circuit version of the iconic sports car. Porsche has added 16 hp for a total of 518 hp and reduced the weight slightly, but it is the aero elements that make this car stand out and record fast lap times. A driver-adjustable rear wing, front wheel arch vents and inlets, roof fins, rear wheel arch air intakes, and large hood nose rills allow the car to generate 1,895 pounds of downforce at a top speed of 177 mph.

A series of concept cars were unveiled at Monterey Car Week, including the Aston Martin DBR22, a 705-horsepower roadster inspired by the 1950s DBR1 and DB3S racing cars. Aston Martin built it as a concept car at Q by Aston Martin and strongly hinted at the possibility of limited production based on the response at Pebble Beach.

Lincoln unveiled its own concept car as a featured brand during Monterey Car Week. The Lincoln L100 Concept celebrates the brand's 100th anniversary and looks to the future of autonomous driving. The low, sleek body has no steering wheel; instead, a chessboard-like controller is positioned in the center; three rows of seats, including a second and third row, add to the social ambiance; and the car is equipped with a steering wheel, a steering wheel, a steering wheel, a steering wheel, a steering wheel, a steering wheel, a steering wheel, a steering wheel and a steering wheel. We don't expect this EV to be built, but its design cues may show up in a future Lincoln.

Dodge has unveiled the Hornet, a small crossover for 2023. Coming later this year, the Hornet will be available in a 268-hp 2.0-liter turbo 4GT model and a 288-hp R/T PHEV model; the R/T will have an electric range of 30 miles and a 0-60 mph time of 6.1 seconds. The Hornet, based on the Alfa Romeo Tonale, will be sporty and tuned, and will start at under $30,000.
