Preview 2023 Lexus IS to Benefit from Appearance and Handling Packs

Lexus' IS sports sedan has received only slight improvements for the 2023 model year, but a new special appearance package is available for the IS 350 F Sport and IS 500 F Sport Premium. The latter features a striking orange paint job called Molten Pearl.

The IS 350 is available in a new "F Sport Design" grade that adds exterior styling details of the IS 350 F Sport model to the regular sedan. upgrade to the IS 350 F Sport and you get adaptive suspension, custom modes with handling package that adds a drive mode selector and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential (rear-wheel-drive models only). This package also adds black 19-inch BBS wheels.

The IS 350 F Sport also offers a special Appearance Package called Incognito, which combines gray exterior paint with a black hood and roof. Black is also used for the interior trim. This package also includes 19-inch dark-finished Enkei wheels. Only 480 units of the Special Appearance Package will be offered to buyers of the IS 350 F Sport.

Further up the grade is the IS 500 F Sport. This grade comes standard with Enkei 19-inch wheels, but black 19-inch BBS wheels are also available as an option.

The IS 500 F Sport's Special Appearance Package is limited to the well-equipped IS 500 F Sport Premium and includes a black interior, floor mat accents, and a key wrap in the same color as the exterior in Molten Pearl. The limited edition is 150 units.

The powertrains in the 2023 IS lineup remain unchanged: the IS 300 will be powered by a 241-hp 2.0-liter turbo four, the IS 350 F Sport by a 311-hp 3.5-liter V-6, and the IS 500 F Sport by a 472-hp 5.0-liter V-8. The standard drive system is rear-wheel drive only, but all-wheel drive can be added to the IS 300 and IS 350 F Sport. Transmission is an 8-speed automatic for rear-wheel drive models and a 6-speed automatic for all-wheel drive models.

An 8.0-inch touchscreen is standard on the IS, but a more practical 10.3-inch touchscreen is available for models with navigation and the Mark Levinson Premium Audio Package.

The 2023 IS goes on sale in the fall. Full pricing is as follows:
