Ferrari SP51 is a new one-off V12 roadster

Ferrari on Wednesday unveiled its latest one-off car, the SP51, developed under the Special Projects program.

The car, ordered by a Taiwanese Ferrari collector, is based on the 812 GTS and looks very attractive, helped by a unique shade of red painted in three layers called Rosso Pasionale.

The exterior has a blue and white stripe down the middle, and these colors are also used to dress up the cabin. This particular combination was inspired by a similar color scheme applied to the 1955 Ferrari 410 S

. Unlike the donor 812 GTS, which features a retractable hardtop, the SP51 skips the roof entirely to embody the true roadster spirit. However, according to Ferrari, aerodynamic modifications developed in wind tunnel testing ensure the same performance and comfort as the donor car.

Many of these modifications are finished in bare carbon fiber to stand out. The carbon fiber wing profiles are used for its spokes. Directly behind the cabin is a carbon fiber wing that gives the car a Targa style.

As is typical of Ferrari's one-off cars, the mechanicals have been left untouched; under the hood of the SP51 is a 6.5-liter V-12 engine that produces a maximum output of 789 hp.
