2023 BMW Z4 adds style and value

BMW's Z4 is now available for the 2023 model year, and several changes have been made to make this attractive sports car even more desirable.

Key among them is the new styling, consisting of a revised front grille with horizontal elements that give the Z4 an even wider look. The M-Sport package, with its distinctive front end appearance, is now standard equipment, and three colors have been added: Thunder Night, Portimao Blue, and Skyscraper Gray.

Also offered are new wheel patterns, including 19-inch M Light alloys designed specifically for the Z4. These wheels feature a V-spoke design and are fitted with 255/35 size tires on the front and 275/35 tires on the rear.

Also new is the M Shadowline Light option, which adds darkening elements to the headlights.

The interior remains unchanged, but with the M Sport Package now standard, all Z4s now feature a leather steering wheel, sport seats, sport pedals, and a synthetic leather-covered dashboard.

Powertrains remain unchanged as well, with the 2023 Z4 offering a choice of a 2.0-liter turbo four in the base grade Z4 sDrive30i and a 3.0-liter turbo six in the Z4 M40i. The Z4 sDrive30i has 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, the Z 4 M40i has 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, the latter reaching 60 mph from a standstill in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Both grades come standard in the U.S. with an 8-speed automatic

. Prices in the U.S. start at $53,795 for the Z4 sDrive30i and $66,295 for the Z4 M40i. Both include a $995 destination charge.

It is not yet clear if the related Toyota Supra will also be updated. A 2023 Supra with a manual transmission is already available, but since this transmission is a Toyota-developed design unique to the Supra, it is unlikely to be used in the Z4.
