The grandfather of today's S-Class, the 600 was Mercedes' most luxurious car at the time. It gained a reputation as a favorite of dictators and celebrities and was owned by everyone from Shah Mohammad Reva Pahlavi of Iran to Elvis Presley.
Power came from an M100 6.3-liter V-8, also known as the 300 SEL 6.3 Sport Sedan, which was transplanted into a smaller body shell.
