2023 Kia EV6 GT, 576 hp for $62,695

Buyers seeking an electric car that offers serious performance need not drop six figures, as there are interesting options that won't break the bank, like the 2023 Kia EV6 GT, which can be purchased for $62,695 including a $1,295 destination charge

Not cheap, especially for a Kia, the EV6 GT delivers 576 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque from its dual-motor, all-wheel drive system. Official performance figures include a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 161 mph, and independent testing has shown it to be a quarter mile faster than the Ferrari Roma and Lamborghini Huracan Evo RWD Spyder.

But this performance comes at a price: the EV6GT's 77.4 kwh battery has an EPA-rated range of only 206 miles.

As a consolation, the EV6 GT comes with a 1,000 kwh charging credit that can be used at Electrify America stations within three years, making its price tag even more attractive. This benefit is offered to buyers of all EV6 grades for the 2023 model year.

Other features on the EV6 GT include a sport-tuned suspension with adjustable dampers, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, a performance brake package, lightweight sport seats, and 21-inch wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Standard equipment.

The 2023 EV6 lineup will begin with the "Wind" grade with rear-wheel drive, 225 hp output, and a 77.4 kwh battery with 310 miles of range. Prices start at $49,795 including destination.

The 58 kwh battery option on the 2022 EV6 was eliminated for the 2023 model. The smaller battery size allowed the 2022 EV6 to be priced starting at $42,115 including destination.

In addition, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which is twinned with the EV6, is about to get a high-performance grade, the Ioniq 5 N. This grade will likely feature the same powertrain as the EV6 GT.
