A limited edition 2024 BMW M3 CS with 543 hp has been released.

The BMW M division unveiled a number of new models last year to celebrate its 50th anniversary, one of which was the hardcore M4 CSL.

Fans of the more practical M thoroughbred must have been a bit grumpy, as there was no similar hardcore version of the M3; on Tuesday, BMW M unveiled the new M3 CS for the 2024 model year.

The CS bridges the gap between the competition grade and the hardcore CSL. Performance is improved through the typical means of increased power and weight reduction, and this is also true of the latest M3 CS. maximum output produced by BMW M's familiar twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder has been confirmed at 543 hp, the same as the M4 CSL. the M3 Competition's 503 hp performance is due to additional boost pressure and ECU tweaks.

The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system that, at full performance, delivers 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 188 mph. The all-wheel drive system is a unique BMW M configuration and uses a multi-plate clutch to transfer torque between the axles. The system features rear bias, which can be further enhanced in 4WD Sport mode. There is also an option to send all drive torque to the rear wheels only if the driver wants the classic rear-wheel drive feel.

In addition, aluminum strut braces for increased rigidity, upgraded brakes (carbon ceramic rotors are also available), stability control for improved performance on the track, and unique wheel camber, damper, and anti-roll bar Chassis improvements include tuning. The wheels are available in gold or matte black and come in 19-inch front and 20-inch rear sizes. The wheels are equipped with performance tires as standard, but can be fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires for circuit driving as a free option. Both tire sizes are 275/35 front and 285/30 rear.

To reduce weight, BMW M engineers used lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced plastic for the hood, roof, front splitter, front intakes, side mirror caps, and rear spoiler. plastic for the hood, roof, front splitters, front intakes, side mirror caps, and rear spoiler. Carbon parts are also used throughout the cabin, including the standard bucket seats with merino leather trim. Lightweight parts, including a titanium muffler, weigh approximately 75 pounds in total. Even so, the vehicle still weighs 3,915 pounds.

Also on the interior is a new dashboard, introduced throughout the 3 Series in 2023. The traditional instrument cluster cowl is gone, replaced by a 12.3-inch floating screen for the instrument cluster combined with a 14.9-inch floating screen for the infotainment hub. display.

Also standard is M Drive Professional, a package that includes the M Drift Analyzer and M Raptimer to record and later evaluate your drives. M Drive Professional also includes M Traction Control, which allows the driver to adjust the traction control from 10 different settings, and the M-Mode Drive Mode Selector, which allows the driver to choose between Road, Sport, and Track.

The 2024 M3 CS is confirmed to be a limited edition model - although BMW M has not revealed how limited.
