Nissan's electric sports car concept leads sustainable mobility event

Nissan will host an event at its headquarters in Yokohama during the month of February to showcase its future initiatives, particularly in the area of sustainable mobility.

Dubbed "Nissan Futures," the event will also feature a concept car that Nissan first presented virtually in 2021.

This concept is the "Max-Out" and, along with crossover concepts like the "Surf-Out" pickup truck, "Hang-Out" SUV, and "Chill-Out" coupe in 2021, the potential designs for the brand's future EV portfolio The roadster was unveiled to hint at the future of the brand's EV portfolio. Nissan plans 15 EVs across the Nissan and Infiniti brands by 2030, with the first EVs expected to arrive in 2025.

While Nissan has not mentioned production plans for the above four concepts, the automaker's design chief Alfonso Albaisa told Motor Authority in a 2022 interview that his design team is investigating an electric pickup truck. An executive representing a Nissan dealer later revealed that Nissan is studying an electric truck for the U.S.

. The sleek, low-slung Max Out would be the least likely of the four concepts to make it to production. Nissan has introduced several electric sports car concepts over the years.

The Nissan Futures event will run from February 4 through March 1. In addition to Max Out, the event will showcase Nissan's developments in electrification, vehicle intelligence, power management, vehicle battery reuse, and V2V and V2X communications.
