2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar, updated interior and exterior.

Land Rover's stylish Range Rover Velar enters the 2024 model year with subtle updates that help further enhance what is already a well-rounded luxury crossover.

The focus of the changes is on the cabin, but on the exterior, changes include a revised grille with additional mesh pattern detailing, new signature daytime running lights as seen on larger Range Rover models, new taillight internals, a new rear fascia design

Interior.

On the interior, a new dashboard greets the driver and passenger. The center stack features a single 11.4-inch floating screen instead of the current twin screens. Not only does the new design look cleaner, but according to Land Rover, the new screen installation makes it easier to reach and read information due to its larger size. In addition, there is only one screen, which reduces reflections.

Also new to the Range Rover Velar cabin are more trim options (including a leather-free option) and improved connectivity, including the latest version of Land Rover's Pivi Pro infotainment system.

The new infotainment system is easier to use thanks to the addition of a sidebar with controls for popular features such as climate control, seats, audio settings, navigation, and cameras. In addition, a pre-drive menu appears at the start of the ride, allowing the driver to quickly adjust functions such as window defroster and heated seats.

Other features of the infotainment system are also said to require less operating time, with about 80% of tasks requiring only two taps on the home screen. The system also supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging of mobile devices. Wireless updates are also available and now cover about 80% of the vehicle's various on-board computers, Land Rover said.

The powertrain remains unchanged. The standard powertrain is a 2.0-liter turbo four that delivers 247 hp, accelerates from 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 135 mph. Above that is a 3.0-liter turbo six with a mild hybrid. This powertrain delivers a total of 395 hp, allowing the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph.

Both powertrains come standard with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive; the 3.0-liter engine also has adjustable suspension. Known as adaptive dynamics, this feature adjusts suspension stiffness and other parameters, and includes a calibration specifically for off-road driving. Land Rover also offers a Terrain Response Drive Mode Selector that adjusts the powertrain, transmission, all-wheel drive system, suspension, and stability control.

The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is already available and starts at $62,775 including a $1,275 destination charge. This is slightly up from the 2023 model's base sticker of $61,450.
