The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, available this spring, is priced at $26,290.

The 2024 model year will mark the third generation of the Subaru Crosstrek. The redesigned model will feature improvements in various areas.

Subaru announced Thursday that pricing for the redesigned 2024 Crosstrek, which will go on sale in the spring, will start at $26,290, including a $1,295 destination charge. This is the same starting price as the 2023 model when equipped with the CVT.

The 2023 model will be slightly cheaper with the standard 6-speed manual, while the new 2024 model will be CVT-only. Like most Subaru vehicles, all-wheel drive will be standard on all models.

Buyers can choose from four grades: base, premium, sport, and limited. The Base and Premium are powered by a 2.0-liter flat-4 with 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque, while the Sport and Limited get a 2.5-liter flat-4 with 182 hp and 178 lb-ft.

Subaru said improvements were made to the engine and transmission to reduce vibration and noise compared to the current Crosstrek.

Underpinning the vehicle is the latest version of the Subaru Global Modular Platform. The main change is a more rigid construction method, in which a full inner frame is first built before the outer body panels are welded together. Previously, the upper and lower sections were assembled separately and then joined together to make the body.

This more rigid design, introduced in the latest WRX and related Levorg, is said to improve handling as well as vibration absorption. Soundproofing materials have also been added to further refine the cabin ambience.

At 176 inches long, the new Crosstrek is almost as long as its predecessor. This means that cabin space is comparable, and the latest model retains the 60:40 folding rear seats of its predecessor. Vehicle weight ranges from 3,395 to 3,571 pounds, depending on specifications.

For the exterior design, Subaru enhanced the look with new grille bars, extended front and rear fascia cladding, and available 18-inch wheels (standard 17-inch wheels). The interior design mimics other recent Subaru models, combining a traditional instrument cluster with an 11.6-inch touchscreen that sits on the center stack as the infotainment hub. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available.

Another important change in the 2024 Crosstrek is the start of production in the United States. Base and premium grades will be produced at a plant in Gunma, Japan.

For buyers who do not require a higher ride height, Subaru is offering a redesigned Impreza hatch for 2024 that shares most of its interior and body panels with the Crosstrek. The two vehicles also share the same mechanical package.
