Spy shot of Cadillac's 2024 3-row electric SUV

Cadillac plans to launch three electric vehicles this year in addition to the existing Lyriq and Celestiq, one prototype of which has been spotted.

The prototype is a mid-size, three-row SUV that will eventually replace the gasoline-powered XT6. Cadillac has previously described the vehicle as a "global-sized" proposition with an emphasis on space and cargo capacity.

The vehicle is heavily camouflaged, but design cues borrowed from the Lyric are clearly visible, including the lines of the front mask, the vertical layout of the headlights, and the beak-like visor running along the front edge of the hood.

The rear, however, is different: because of the need to accommodate a third row, the roof remains relatively flat, rather than sloping toward the rear as on the Lyric. At some angles, it looks like a Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

The interior design should also resemble that found on the Lyric. This means a clean dash with a large curved screen that integrates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment hub. In some photos, part of the screen is visible.

The vehicle is supported by parent company General Motors' Ultium platform and battery technology set. Powertrain options should be similar to those offered in the Lyriq, meaning a battery with a capacity of about 100 kwh and a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. For all-wheel drive, peak output could be around 500 ps.

Another of the three EVs planned for this year will be a compact crossover, a prototype of which was spotted last summer. The third and final one will likely be an Escalade-like model listed on the future roadmap offered by Cadillac in 2020.

All three are scheduled to go into production in 2024. The Celestic flagship will go into production later this year.
