2025 Cadillac 3-row electric mid-size SUV Spy Shot

Cadillac plans to introduce three electric vehicles this year in addition to its existing Lyriq SUV and Celestiq flagship hatchback, a prototype of one of which has been spotted.

This prototype is a mid-size, three-row SUV that will likely eventually replace the gasoline-powered XT6. Cadillac has previously described the vehicle as a "global-sized" offering with an emphasis on space and cargo capacity.

The vehicle is heavily camouflaged, but design cues borrowed from the Lyric are clearly visible, including the lines of the front mask, the vertical layout of the headlights, and the beak-like visor running along the front edge of the hood.

The rear, however, is different: because of the need to accommodate a third row of passengers, the roof remains relatively flat rather than sloping toward the rear as on the Lyric. At some angles, it almost looks like a Range Rover Sport.

The interior design should also resemble that found on the Lyric. This means a clean dash with a large curved screen that integrates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment hub. In some photos, part of the screen is visible.

The vehicle is supported by General Motors' Ultium platform and battery technology set, and powertrain options should be similar to those offered in the Lyric, which also uses Ultium technology. In other words, the car would be powered by a battery of approximately 100 kwh, with a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. In the case of all-wheel drive, peak output could be around 500 hp.

Other Cadillac EVs to be unveiled this year include the Escalade IQ, which will debut on August 9, and a small car called the Optic, whose design was unveiled via a Chinese government website in July.

The three new EVs will only go into production in 2024 and will likely appear as 2025 models. The next Cadillac EV to go into production will be the Celestic. The first model will go into production later this year as a 2024 model.
