Ferrari 499P racing car, winner of the Le Mans race

Ferrari has given high-heeled track lovers the opportunity to purchase what is essentially a clone of the 499P LMH race car that won at Le Mans, but was exempt from all racing rules.

The new car is the 499P Modificata, which debuted last weekend at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali assembly at the Mugello Circuit in Italy.

The production of the 499P modification will be limited, but Ferrari does not say how limited it is, but the F1Clienti program under the Ferrari client driver program

the price is set at 510 million euros (about 5540 million dollars) and will be available for sports cars. starting in 2024. This includes a 2-year membership in Prototipi Clienti. Membership includes all services and logistics of the car, as well as an engineering team to participate in the Track Day event organized by Ferrari.

The 499P modification is based on the same carbon fiber monocoque chassis as the 499p racing car, with pushrod suspension and brake-by-wire technology that allows the front electric motor to recover energy when braking. It's a good idea. Ferrari said that the suspension was reconfigured to provide a more pleasant experience compared to the settings of the race car, which this year won the overall victory in the Le Mans 2024 hours race.

Special pirelli tires are also used in trucks. According to Ferrari representatives, they are designed to be more gentle than race car tires and provide more predictable handling, greater returns and faster warm-up time. They have sizes 310/710-18 in front and 340/710-18 in back.

However, the biggest change made to the modification of the 499P concerns the power units. The power unit consists of a 7-speed 3.0-liter V-6 engine with dual turbocharging, which drives the rear wheels using a sequential gearbox, and a single electric motor that drives the front wheels. But, freed from the racing rules, the 499P Modificata, unlike the limited 670 hp racing car, develops a maximum power of 697 hp (858 hp in a temporary push-to-pass system), the unique engine scheme also provides more torque with a smaller range of turns of the track car.

There are also no rules restricting the use of the front engine only at speeds above 118 mph. Drivers are also no longer restricted in when they can use car push to pass the system. With the 499P modification, this temporarily raises the peak power to 858 hp and provides an additional boost of 161 hp for seven seconds. The Push-passing system is still limited by the available battery charging status and automatically turns off when a certain charging threshold is reached.

According to Ferrari, the result of the upgrade was a car that shows the best results in the brand outside of a specialized racing car.

And other versions of 499P may appear in the future. In addition to the 499P Modificata name, Ferrari is known to have filed trademark applications for the 499GTB, 499GTS and 499Speciale, presumably implying a more tamed road version of the 499P.GTB stands for "Gran Turismo Berlinetta", which is sometimes used by Ferrari for coupe models. Similarly, the GTS stands for "Gran Turismo Spider", which is sometimes used by automakers for convertibles, while the Speciale is sometimes used by Ferrari for hardcore models such as the 458 Speciale. This name could be used for Ferrari's successor La Ferrari, which is currently being tested.
