The Nissan Frontier off-road concept is presented at the Nora 500 exhibition in Bach

Nissan takes part in the frontier off-road race. The automaker has announced the frontier off-road concept, which will be presented at the NORRA500 race in Mexico this weekend.

The racing team, founded in partnership with Forsberg Racing, was founded by successful drifter Chris Forsberg, and the mid-size pickup truck will compete in the Stockby class. However, there are still some changes regarding his duties in desert racing. These include a set of Nissan Nismo Performance lifts and a high-performance suspension, Yokohama Geolander M/T G003 tires with 17-inch wheels with fixed sides, locking sliders and off-road headlights.

There are no obvious changes under the hood. For the first time in the 17 years since the redesign of the 2022 model, the Frontier is offered only with a 3.8-liter V-6 engine generating 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Its engine was introduced at the 2020 border.

NORRA500 will take participants from Ensenada via Bayou to San Felipe and then back to Ensenada again. Nissan has a rich history in this part of the world. Recently, Nissan has released a version with a rigid body, which brings some elements of the original track style to the modern framework.

After the race, frontier, built by Forsberg Racing, will be shown in racing condition at the 2023sema exhibition, which will be held on May 10, 2023. November 31-3 in Las Vegas. Other concept cars will be presented at the Nissan exhibition, and it will be clear that we are approaching the opening of the exhibition.

In the past, Forsberg Racing and Nissan have collaborated on several wild SEMA concepts, including Frontier and Altima drift car with V-8. But although these were running cars, they were not designed for competitions like this last frontier.
