Rolls-Royce Celebrates 120th Anniversary with Ghost Prism

Rolls-Royce is testing an updated Ghost prototype, but buyers who can't wait have a new alternative to the current sedan in the form of the Ghost Prism.

This special model was unveiled to commemorate Rolls-Royce's 120th anniversary, and the number of units produced will equal Rolls-Royce's age.

According to Rolls-Royce, the Ghost Prism is inspired by the world of contemporary design and features some of the options that buyers in the fashion and design industry typically choose.

The result is a gunmetal gray exterior accented with one of four colors: Phoenix Red, Turquoise, Mandarin, and Forge Yellow. The exterior paint consisted of four layers, each sanded by hand in a process that took approximately 16 hours to complete.

In addition, shadow finishes, known as burnouts, are used on elements that normally have a mirror-polished stainless steel finish, such as the grille. [It is used on the dashboard, steering wheel, and seat piping and stitching. This color is also used on the Starlight headliner, with 1,040 fiber-optic light elements placed in the leather roof lining.

The powertrain remains unchanged, with a twin-turbo 6.8-liter V-12 under the hood, producing 563 hp.

Rolls-Royce's updated Ghost is expected to debut next year. A prototype in the wild has been spotted, revealing new headlights and taillights and a new front mask design. Rolls-Royce is also working on an updated Cullinan SUV.
