2025 Porsche Macan EV, new RWD model with price reduction

The battery-only powered 2024 Porsche Macan was launched earlier this year, but the only models available were the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo.

Porsche expanded its 2025 lineup on Tuesday with two more models, one of which is a new $77,295 rear-wheel-drive base Macan that includes a $1,995 destination charge.

The cheapest electric Macan for the 2024 model year is the Macan 4 at $80,450 including destination charge.

The second model to be added for 2025 is the Macan 4S, starting at $86,895 including destination. It is a slightly sportier alternative to the Macan 4 and, like that model, will also feature all-wheel drive.

The new base Macan features a single motor on the rear axle and maximum output of 335 hp; the introduction of this model means that for the first time, the Macan will only drive two wheels. It takes only 5.4 seconds to reach 60 mph from a standstill and reaches a top speed of 136 mph.

The battery is the same 100 kwh unit found in all other electric Macans. Porsche has not mentioned range, but the base new Macan should be the range king. EPA estimates for the electric Macan have not been released, but Porsche has previously suggested that the Macan 4 will have a range of about 300 miles.

The new Macan 4S is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain with a maximum output of 509 hp, accelerating from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 149 mph. The Macan 4S also features a traction control system that can vary torque between the front and rear axles about five times faster than a conventional all-wheel drive system, helping to improve stability.

Air springs with adaptive dampers are standard on both Macan models and can also enhance rear-wheel steering. Porsche's brake-based Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system is available on the Macan 4S.

New color and wheel options are also available for 2025, as well as a new Off-Road Design Package that can be added to all Macan models. The Off-Road Pack adds a new front end that improves the approach angle by up to 17.5 degrees, depending on the model. It also adds unique 21-inch wheels. Ground clearance will be slightly higher, up 0.4 inches to 7.6 inches in the stock configuration and up to 8.8 inches. The Off-Road Pack front end can be added to the Macan, Macan 4, and Macan 4S models as a stand-alone option.

The 2025 Macan lineup is available for order, with first deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. The previous generation gas-powered Macan is still available. Porsche confirmed earlier this month that its production will eventually end at some point in 2026.
