RML Prepares Porsche 911 Upgrade Inspired by Le Mans Hypercar

British motorsports engineering firm RML Group is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a total of four new products, one for each decade of its existence.

Products include a Porsche 911 upgrade inspired by the Le Mans Hypercar race cars that compete at the top level in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA Sports Car Championship, a circuit day car, a high-performance battery pack, an original Aston Martin V8 Vantage-based restomods, and more.

The new products are not just a celebration, but symbolize what is possible with the new division RML has established to grow its business, especially in the retail segment.

RML typically works with race teams and OEMs. This is the same company that Nissan tapped a decade ago to build the Juke-R, a Juke subcompact crossover wrapped around the GT-R's suspension. However, the new division added powertrains (including EV technology) and tailor-made personalization services to its traditional motorsports and engineering services, allowing it to cater to a more diverse customer base.

RML has not indicated when it plans to announce the new products, but CEO Michael Mallock said in a statement that this is just the beginning of a "long product pipeline" and that more details will be announced "soon."

The company has provided two teaser photos of an in-house 911 upgrade called P39, which RML says is designed to work across the current 911 series and includes both powertrain and aerodynamic upgrades RML says the upgrade is designed to work across the current 911 series and includes both powertrain and aerodynamics upgrades. As for the aerodynamics, it is certain to be influenced in some way by Porsche's 963 LMDh racing car, which is comparable to the LMH car.

Other products include a track car code-named P40, which RML says has F1-inspired aerodynamics and a high-performance battery.
