Rimac Nevella R., aiming to attack the corner.

When Rimac unveiled the Nevera in 2021, the Croatian brand intended this 1,914-horsepower electric hypercar to be a GT of sorts. On Friday, Rimac unveiled the Nevera R, which excels at “lighter, faster, and more focused” cornering. According to Rimac, R stands for radical, defiant, and relentless.

Rimac updated the battery, brakes, suspension, and power to make the R. Rimac modified the steering for sharper response, added more negative camber, and installed 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Michelin Cup 2 Pilot Sport tires. Rimac says handling is sharper thanks to a new generation of all-wheel-drive torque vectoring with four motors (two front, two rear). Traction control has been improved to work in conjunction with the new AWD system to deliver predictable performance in wet conditions.

There are also design tweaks that change the look and contribute to increased downforce. A larger fixed rear wing and a larger new diffuser are part of an aero package that increases downforce by 15% and aerodynamic efficiency by 10%.
