Ford Mustang 4-door coupe and off-roader reportedly revealed to dealers

There is growing evidence that Ford may be preparing a new body style for the Mustang lineup.

Citing four people who attended a recent Ford dealer meeting in Las Vegas, Automotive News (subscription required) reported Thursday that Ford showed several new models at the event as renderings and mock-ups.

Among the new models were a four-door coupe and a four-wheel-drive off-roader that formed part of the expanded Mustang lineup.

The four-door coupe was called the Mach 4 by some sources. The off-roader was described as having a raised suspension and special tires, presumably to handle rough roads. Neither model was described as an electric car.

Ford has already trodden the off-road path with the Mustang Mach E Rally, launched for the 2024 model year. A similar model based on the Mustang coupe could be launched as a more accessible alternative to off-road capable sports cars like the Porsche 911 Dakar and the Lamborghini Huracan Stellato.
