Special model commemorates the 50th anniversary of Porsche's everyday supercar, the 911 Turbo

Porsche officially unveiled the first 911 Turbo at the 1974 Paris Motor Show, where the model was known to fans by its in-house code 930. Over the following decades, the 911 Turbo became famous for its supercar-level performance and everyday usability. Prior to the electric car era, there were not many cars with four seats and a decent level of ground clearance that could keep up with the top cars coming out of Maranello.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Porsche unveiled the 911 Turbo 50 Years Edition at the 2024 Monterey Car Week late Thursday. In keeping with Turbo tradition, the car combines top performance with luxurious details, some of which are reminiscent of 911 Turbo details of the past.

For example, unique body graphics and badges, the exclusive Turbo color Turbo Night as an accent color (a first for the 911), and a gray finish on the rear wing, lower rear fascia, side mirror bases, and intake grille. LEDs on the doors project a turbocharger icon on the ground when the doors are opened.

Cabin details include seat centers and inner door panels trimmed in Porsche's classic Mackenzie tartan check pattern, with Turbo Night color accents, illuminated “turbo 50” script on door sill panels, and other areas [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...]
