An electric Karma Revelo GTE with up to 400 miles of range will be available in 2021.

The Karma Revelo sedan will feature a battery-electric powertrain by spring 2021, the company announced Thursday.

Two battery options will be available at launch: a standard 75 kWh capacity with 200 miles of range and an extended capacity 100 kWh with 300 miles of range. A 400-mile range variant, known as the Hyper Range, will be available in late 2021.

All range figures are estimates and may change once EPA results are available. The longest-range version of the competing Tesla Model S has a range of 373 miles according to the EPA.

The electric Revelo is labeled the Revelo GTE, which distinguishes it from the standard Revelo GT and the sporty Revelo GTS with its extended range. These models can travel about 60 miles on electric power before the range extender (in this case a BMW three-cylinder engine) is turned on.

Karma does not disclose the power output of the Revero GTE, but promises a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of less than 3.9 seconds. Karma also stated that the Revero GTE will be equipped with a torque vectoring system. It is unclear whether power will be sent to the rear wheels only or to all four.

When charging, Karma said the 150-kilowatt charger will be able to charge the car to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.

Karma will begin taking pre-orders for the Revero GTE in the coming months.

The basic design of the Revero dates back to the original Fisker Karma, but Karma has since redesigned and developed a new platform for the car called E-Flex. This platform can produce both battery-powered and long-range electric vehicles and was demonstrated on a van in early April. Karma has also offered pickup trucks, SUVs, and supercars and intends to license the platform to other companies looking to enter the electric vehicle market.
