Prices for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade start at $77,490, which is $1,000 higher.

Cadillac's top-of-the-line SUV will get more luxurious in 2021, and with it comes a slight price increase.

On Thursday, Cadillac announced pricing for the redesigned 2021 Escalade. The base price is $77,490 for the short-wheelbase version and $80,490 for the long-wheelbase ESV (which includes a $1,295 delivery fee). Cadillac is currently offering a $9,500 rebate on the 2020 model, which is a $1,000 increase in price for both body styles over the 2020 model. The 2021 Escalade will go on sale in the U.S. later this year.

It may be an older body-on-frame SUV, but the 2021 Escalade has a big focus on technology. The interior, influenced by the Escala concept, is dominated by a 38-inch curved OLED display with a 7.2-inch touchscreen, a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 16.9-inch touchscreen. inch touchscreen. inch touchscreen. The huge glass allows for "augmented reality" navigation, which superimposes directional arrows over street images. Navigation comes standard, as does Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system, a surround-view camera system, and 22-inch wheels.

Options include the latest version of Cadillac's Super Cruise driver assistance system, a new set of sensors for additional lane change capability, a 36-speaker AKG audio system, magnetic dampers and air suspension, a rear-seat entertainment system, and more.

The SUV shares a common platform with the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and 2021 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL and for the first time has an independent rear suspension. A passive suspension system is standard.

The base engine is the former 6.2-liter V8 (420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque), but a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbodiesel (277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque) is also offered. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive with downshifts and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential is also available.

The 2021 Escalade will be offered in five trim levels: luxury, premium luxury, premium luxury platinum, sport, and sport platinum. Cadillac has not yet disclosed pricing for individual trim levels and options. That information will come as the launch approaches.
