One of 51 examples of the 1999 Acura NSX Zanardi Edition for sale.

The first-generation Acura NSX is prized for its clean driving and ease of ownership. But the 1999 model featured in the Bring a Trailer program is no ordinary NSX. It is one of 51 Zanardi Edition models sold in the United States.

The Zanardi Edition model was produced to commemorate Alex Zanardi's 1997 and 1998 CART championships in Honda cars. In 2001, Zanardi lost both legs in a horrific crash during a CART race at the Lausitzring circuit in Germany, but eventually returned to the cockpit, including in the 2019 24 Hours of Daytona race with BMW.

The Zanardi Edition model featured a new Formula Red paint scheme, stiffer suspension and a fixed roof that replaced the Targa roof on other 1999 NSX models. The mid-mounted 3.2-liter V6 engine produces 290 hp and 224 lb-ft of torque and is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

The car, the 43rd of 51 vehicles, has 57,500 miles on the odometer. According to the seller, the Acura dealer replaced the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, auxiliary drive belt, and valve cover gasket in September 2019. The dealer also flushed the cooling system and brake system, serviced the fuel injection system and transmission, and replaced the wheel sensors. It should be noted that the car currently has 1998 Yokohama tires on it.

The NSX is currently located in Connecticut and, according to the ad, has a New York registration certificate, a clean Carfax report, and an original window sticker. A high price of $79,000 was set for the car, listed for sale on behalf of the dealership, with three days of bidding remaining. Incidentally, the sticker price in 1999 was $84,745.
