2020 Audi SQ8 $89,995 for the "performance and beauty" package.

Buyers looking for an SUV with attractive looks, a fast ride, and luxury will look to the SQ8, the newest addition to Audi's lineup for 2020.

Prices start at $89,995 including delivery, with a full range of standard features.

The SQ8, based on the 2019 Q8, features enhanced dynamics thanks to a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 500 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque. Four-wheel drive comes via an eight-speed automatic and a rear-wheel-drive all-wheel-drive system. To improve handling during active driving, Audi offers a sport differential that can distribute torque to the rear wheels.

The same mechanical package is also available in the more practical Q7 body, priced from $85,795. Outside the U.S., the SQ8 TDI is also available with a 429-hp, 664 lb-ft V8 diesel engine. [The SQ8 has a more aggressive appearance than the regular Q8, thanks in large part to new front and rear fascias; the SQ8 is also slightly lower than the regular Q8 and can be equipped with 22-inch wheels (21-inch wheels are standard). The interior features all the hallmarks of the "S" style, including alcantara trim, stainless steel pedals, and aluminum footrest covers.

Standard features include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1- and 8.6-inch screens for the infotainment system and climate settings respectively, Bang & Olufsen audio system, Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There is also adaptive cruise control with lane keeping, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and bicyclist detection, a surround-view camera, and an exit warning system that alerts the driver to an approaching object behind them when they attempt to open the door. A number of electronic driver assistance systems are also offered, including the basic ones.

For buyers looking for even more performance, Audi will also offer the RS Q8 model in 2020. This model has the same mechanical package as the SQ8, but with the addition of a mild hybrid system for increased efficiency. Maximum power is also significantly increased to 592 hp and 590 lb-ft.
