A Shelby Mustang Signature Series with an 825 horsepower manual transmission. - our sign of life.

Ford tuner Shelby American continues to produce hard-hitting muscle.

The 825-horsepower Super Snake Mustang was unveiled in December, followed by a new Mustang boasting the same power. It is a tribute to the company's founder, Carroll Shelby, and bears his signature.

The car is called the Carroll Shelby Signature Series Mustang and was first unveiled Friday at the National Automobile Dealers Association show currently underway in Las Vegas.

The car has been in development for the past two years and is based on a Ford Mustang GT. Buyers can choose between coupe and convertible body options for the donor car, and can also choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic.

Under the hood is Ford's 5.0-liter V-8 engine, fitted with a supercharger, high-flow exhaust system, and a host of new cooling systems. Shelby's team also added Magnetic Ride suspension, upgraded brakes, and extra-wide forged wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

To fit everything, new fenders and a widebody kit were also needed. The kit included a metallic ram air hood, new front mask, side skirts, and rear diffuser.

"The body was widened with high-quality aluminum fenders to create a square footprint," says Vince Laviolette, R&D chief at Shelby American." The fit and finish is incredible and just as attractive at rest as it is in motion on the road or on the track."

[14 [Pricing for the Carroll Shelby Signature Series Mustang starts at $127,795. Only 50 units will be produced in North America, with a limited number produced by international Shelby dealers.
