A pair of huge restomod Chevy pickup trucks from Rtech attended Jay Leno's Garage show

Idaho-based customizer Rtech Fabrications was busy building retro-themed dream machines like the Ponderosa and other wonderfully large pickups that can block out the sun when parked.

Owner Randall Robertson stopped by Jay Leno's garage to talk about his work and the process of building the huge and very cool restomod pickup.

Jay Leno test drove the prototype Ponderosa, a 1966 Chevrolet K30 transplanted into a Duallie flatbed chassis with a massive 175-inch wheelbase Powered by a 5.9-liter inline 6-cylinder Cummins turbo diesel with a 5-speed manual transmission. Robertson says that while the Cummins-powered Chevrolet may sound heretical to the rabid bowtie enthusiast, it is a great companion for trucks weighing over four tons.

The list of upgrades and fabrications needed to make Robertson's amazing creation is long and extensive, but our favorite parts include a ported and polished motor, a 60-gallon fuel tank, a machined all-stel crew cab, a Bluetooth compatible retro radio, etc... A 5-speed manual sounds like fun, but if I'm going to drive it every day, I'd rather live in Coeur d'Alene, Rtech's hometown.

Robertson also brings a 1972 Chevy, but this one hasn't been upgraded much yet; it started as a 1969 or '70, but became a '72 with '72 door panels. It has the same Cummins engine, but will soon have a 1,000 hp twin-turbo Cummins engine, new suspension, and new steering.

Reno drives a huge 1966 Chevrolet Southern California, which dwarfs everything else on the road.

Watch the video above to hear the sound of the big rig slogging through town and see Rtech's massive pickup rolling down the road. It looks like nothing else.
