The first 2021 Lexus LC convertible will be sold at a charity auction.

A special one-off version of the recently revealed 2021 Lexus LC convertible will go under the hammer Friday at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The car, also the first LC convertible to roll off the production line, with a VIN ending in 001, will be offered for sale by Lexus to raise funds for charity. Proceeds will be split equally between the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

The car is known as the LC Inspiration Series Launch Exclusive 1 of 1 and is painted in Lexus Structural Blue. Different shades of gray are used as accents around the wheels and headlights.

Contrasting the blue exterior is the white leather interior. In addition, each door sill is lined with a carbon fiber panel engraved with the car's name.

The LC Convertible is only available in the LC 500 grade for now, with a 5.0-liter V-8 engine sitting up front, producing 471 horsepower. This engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic and spins only the rear wheels. Lexus has not said whether there will be an LC 500h grade, but one can imagine it being offered in key hybrid markets. This grade should feature a 3.5-liter V-6 engine and electric motor combo that produces 354 hp. Eventually, a model with a new twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, currently under development, might also be offered.

The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction opens Saturday and runs through January 19. The auction will also feature the sale of the first production car, a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
