Aston Martin takes to the skies in ACH130 helicopter

Aston Martin is the latest automaker to lend its name to a vehicle designed for the skies.

Britain's Aston Martin unveiled its ACH130 Aston Martin Edition helicopter at a ceremony in Courchevel in the French Alps on Friday.

Aston Martin and Airbus entered into a partnership in December in which Aston Martin designers will help Airbus create the exterior and interior of the helicopter; the ACH130 Aston Martin Edition is the first result of this partnership.

The helicopter is available in four color schemes, with the highlight being a combination of silver and British Racing Green. Each livery also features a complementary interior design. For example, the cabin of the silver and green livery is upholstered in saddle brown leather.

The Aston Martin wing logo is found throughout, including a special plaque on the instrument panel. This panel also bears a unique serial number and, optionally, the owner's name.

Aston Martin is no stranger to collaborating with ultra-luxury vehicles; in 2018 it launched a similar program with Triton Submarines to create a submersible that can dive to over 1,500 feet and travel underwater at speeds of 5 knots, the Project The company designed the Neptune. The automaker also owns a luxury high-rise tower in Miami and a motorcycle developed with Blau Superiore. [Aston Martin Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman said, "We have our own automotive design principles, but in recent years we have learned how to apply them to other design disciplines, including architecture, motorcycles, and now helicopters."
