The world's only Corvette ZR1-engined Bertone Tide is for sale again.

The year is 2009, and the now-defunct Italian design house Stile Bertone has turned a C6 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 into a one-off creation.

The result is this Bertone Mantide, which is once again for sale. Mantido will pass through the Scottsdale, Arizona auction block on January 15 in search of a new home.

The car was the brainchild of an American named Jason Castriota, who was designing at Bertone at the time. Its history is colorful, including a show car at Auto Shanghai, a Best in Super Car Class award at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and a concept car exhibit at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It was also displayed on the concept car lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

The Mantide is said to be capable of reaching speeds in excess of 200 mph thanks to its 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine that produces 638 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque, all of which is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.ZR 1's entire powertrain was carried over to the Mantide, but the carbon fiber body was designed by Bertone and was 250 pounds lighter than the already lightweight ZR1.

Tests conducted a few years ago in Nardo confirmed a 0-60 acceleration of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 218 mph.

The design is not to everyone's taste, but it is definitely one of a kind. It is said to be inspired by modern aerospace and Formula One.

The Scottsdale sale will be handled by Worldwide Auctioneers; when the Mantide was offered for sale at a New York dealership in October, it was said to have over 10,000 miles on the odometer, but the latest auction listing makes no mention of the current mileage not mentioned.

It is worth noting that the pearl white paint is not Mantido's original color. Bertone had originally painted it an attractive red color, but it appears that the first buyer did not like the color and had it painted this pearl white instead.
